Description

Incyte Diagnostics has an employment opportunity for an AP/CP board certified pathologist in Yakima, Washington, available immediately. This position is a part-time position which is expected to grow to a full-time position in several years. Founded in 1957, Incyte now has over 40 pathologists and 200 support staff. The group provides on-site and off-site staffing to numerous hospitals and ambulatory care facilities throughout Washington and Northern Idaho, as well as laboratory medical directorship/consultation to many smaller hospitals within the Inland Northwest.

 

The successful candidate will be board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. Those with medical directorship experience will be given special consideration. Incyte pathologists are committed to providing outstanding service in all aspects of community-based anatomic and clinical pathology, making flexibility and strong training in general pathology a must. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, have excellent communication skills, have a strong desire to interact with clinicians, administrators and laboratory staff, and be proficient in the performance of frozen sections, cytology interpretations (both GYN and non-GYN) and occasional autopsies. The successful candidate should have an interest in clinical pathology, a willingness to participate in tumor boards and serve on hospital committees, and the ability to work independently.

 

Yakima is located in central Washington, about 60 miles southeast of Mount Rainier and the Cascade Mountain Range. With a population of over 90,000, and 240,000 in the greater area, it ranks as Washington’s eighth largest city and is within the heart of the state’s vibrant wine country. The city hosts medical and technical schools, and there are nearby universities. Yakima is also known for its arts and culture, with several museums, a theater and symphony. Residents enjoy a temperate climate, with access to a variety of outdoor recreational activities, including skiing, biking, world-class fishing, golf and hiking. The city’s airport offers quick transportation to larger cities, such as Seattle and Portland.
